Dwight Fenton was the first person to give me the opportunity to put my stuff in his shop, Stoke ACK.

I walked in one day wearing my Chad Son of Satan shirt -the black one with the pink pentagram- and upon noticing it he asked, “Does that say Nantucket?”

We struck up a conversation, found we had many things in common, and he told me that if I wanted to put some of my merchandise in his shop that it would be “Rad”.
Dwight was a unique blend of New England Preppy and 80’s era punk rocker. He knew how to play societies game of acceptance though conformity yet possessed an appreciation for sharp cynicism when it came to things like the ridiculousness of this little island that we live on.
I loved that his company was named “Kooks and Groms LLC” the two classes of surfer that actually surf because it’s fun, before the expectations and ego  kick into gear complicating the otherwise simple pleasure of riding waves.

These products are all ideas I think Dwight would have loved. A tad edgy -maybe even offensive to some- yet high quality, made to last and sourced from companies one might not see in normal surf shops or surf-wear lines.

RIP brother. See you on the other side.
