As far as influence goes, you would be hard pressed to find anyone with more contributuions to a culture -surfing in particular- than Tom Blake.

Aside from having impecable taste in very large surfcraft, he is credited as being the first person to put a fin on a board, first to attach a sail to a board - basically inventing windsurfing - one of the first to create a  functional water housing for a camera (73 years before Go Pro), and one of the first to experiment with building lightweight surfboards. In fact, Blakes hollow surfboard plan was published in a four page article etitled Riding the Breakers! in the July 1937 edition of Popular Mechanics Magazine.

Years ago I was able to scrounge up a copy and always thought that the plans were a piece of art on their own. Recently, as I was looking through my book shelves, I came across the magazine and had another look at the article. It's such an awesome image that I decided to re draw the plans and put them on a T shirt.

Fun fact. With a bit of woodworking knowledge and the ability to interpret a table of offsets, you could build his design by using this shirt!

I chose a Balsa wood colored T for this one as a nod to early surfboard design pioneers and the role Balsa wood had in pushing surfboard construction forward.
